Graphic Design & Writing

I enjoy creating graphic design pieces and writing on subjects that move me. I enjoy the creative process of weaving images and text together into inspirational and sometimes satirical messages. It connects me with my experiences in art, graphic design, and advertising and publishing, which I enjoyed very much.

Although I did abundant writing, I was never the professional graphic designer. I lacked the talent and polish. In my various executive roles, I managed the skills of others in the process of creating and publishing advertising and communication pieces.

Whether a bane or boon, most of my work life involved managing processes and people. Yet, I deeply admired the talents of the great creatives and writers, editors, and artists I worked with. My writing and graphic design pieces today, are part therapy, somewhat a hobby, and a source of comfort and enjoyment.Website design and management are my best examples today.

Design Pieces

I enjoy creating designs with colorful images and messages that inspire, encourage, and sometimes bring a laugh.

Writings

I write when subjects or life experiences move me. It’s a form of self therapy that prevents me from obsessing over things I don’t understand. I ponder the “why” in things. So, I pose questions as a form of inquiry, consider the various perspectives, and drive for insight and resolution. I definitely am a critical thinker. Today, most of my writing carries a Buddhist tone and sentiment. Buddhist philosophy presents a truly unique approach to the philosophical and metaphysical subjects of ontology, semantics, epistemology, psychology, ethics and religious experience.

How much of my writing I post here remains to be seen. I can see myself lambasted for unbridled candor and honesty. While I consider myself deeply Buddhist, I’m no saint. You may find deeply critical social and political commentaries. Humanity constantly mucks things up.
